A TWIST OF ORCHIDS
By Michelle Wan,
Doubleday Canada, 328 pages, $29.95
This is the third novel in Wan's delightful Death in the Dordogne series. Who knew that Guelph, Ont., could generate such Gallic
glory?
Expats Mara Dunn and Julian Wood are
spending the winter in splendour, enjoying the
countryside and dining on wonderful local foods. It seems to be ideal, but then
a close friend is killed in a mysterious fall and a local youth is found dead
of a drug overdose. And, of course, there are orchid thieves about.
As events move, Mara and
Julian begin to think that everything, including their relationship, is falling
apart. They may find a killer and lose everything else.
